Yesterday I attended the homegoing celebration for the late Prof. George Edwards, former Band Director of the PVAMU Marching Storm. It was a bittersweet occasion. Bitter because of the loss of a father, child, sibling, friend, professor, musical genius etc. and sweet because of the accolades and thanks given to this legendary musician for a job well done. I remember attending serveral events just to hear what masterpieces the Marching Storm would perform under his direction. Yesterday they confirmed that his hard work was not in vain. In one of the tributes, he was deservingly described as the Quincy Jones of marching bands. The selections performed by the marching storm demonstrated why he was revered as a great musician. So you ask. What does this have to do with adventure? Well, the uncertainty of life makes it an adventure so we all should live our lives according to God's purpose. I grew up calling this plant Joseph's Coat but they tell me that the proper name is Coleus Coleo aka Painted Lady. Yea right, to me it looks more like a coat belonging to Joseph. Never seen a lady looking like this yet.
