Day 49: Evening on the Bay

Image
Hanging out on the bay is extremely relaxing and brings back memories of being in the Caribbean. Except of course that they were no coconut trees nor white sand where I took this picture. Could not help but think about "Three Steps". It was quite similar to the yacht with the red spinnaker. I met a guy in San Diego who told me about his experience with a catamaran he owned. I am not the only person with a boat story (to remain untold here) after all.

Day 48: San Diego Bay

Image
The San Diego Bay has several interesting vessels. You can enjoy everything from a meal on a ship to maritime exhibits. This ship - the "Star of India, San Diego" is the Maritime Museum.

Day 47: Little Italy

Image
Little Italy, downtown San Diego. This place has a really cozy atmosphere and cool places to eat. The wall gives a little history of the square where the photo was taken. Cannot remember the name now so I will post it later.

Day 46: San Diego Bay

A break between conference sessions provided an opportunity to capture the view looking over the San Diego Bay.

Day 44: San Diego, CA

Today will begin a series of photos from the San Diego downtown area. Here is a Amtrak train at the station (chu-chu). This area is a really nice and offers something for all (especially nice food).

Day 42: ESRI User Conference 2010

Image
Have been attending the 2010 ESRI EDUC and Internaitonal User Conferences in San Diego, CA for the past few days. They are by far the best conferences I have attended and attracted over 15,000 attendees from 134 countries. To crown it all I was very proud to see Barbados in the house. This was my first UC and I hope it will not be my last. Great job ESRI!

The Burj Al-Arab is another representation of interesting architecture.

Day 38: Burj Dubai

Image
I recently got the opportunity to visit Dubai, United Arab Emirates on an overnight lay-over. I went on a night tour and saw several of the popular places of interest. Obviously, a visit to the Burj Khalifa (2,717ft,) - the world's tallest skyscraper was the highlight. It is difficult to determine which building was the most impressive. I sum up the two hour tour with two words - awesome construction. Sorry about the leaning building on the right side of the photo, that is my doing not the construction. Buy me a tilt-shift lens if you pity me. Thanks in advance.
